There are many factors that are used to calculate the permit cost including retail value, square footage, plumbing, etc. Please contact the Building and Zoning Department at 618-466-1206 to obtain an accurate cost for a building permit.

4. Is there anything we can do if my neighbor has high grass, an inoperable car, debris, or their property is not being maintained?
The Village has Ordinances that cover property maintenance so we can notify the property in question and, if necessary, take legal action.
5. Do you obtain a sewer permit at our office?
The Sewer Department handles tap on fees, but we provide a cover letter for Madison County for septic and Norweco systems where sewer is unavailable.
6. Where can I find an application for a preliminary plat or final plat?
