Youth Basketball
The Village of Godfrey's Youth Basketball Program is designed to give the young people of Godfrey a chance to learn the game of basketball, make new friends and have fun in the process. The Village partners with the Boys and Girls Club of Alton on basketball to offer a successful program for everyone.
Participants in this program will have the opportunity to attend clinic sessions run by the Lewis and Clark Community College Mens Basketball team before being placed on a team to compete with for the remainder of the season. Once on a team, coaches will contact participants with practice times and game schedule. League practices and play focus on teamwork, sportsmanship, rules and skill learning. Practice and game play begin in January. A special "March Madness" game day will be held at the end of the season.
Participants must play in the appropriate age group. League formation will depend on the number of participants signed up for the program. The Godfrey Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to place participants based on age and talent.
